Post Shoot Reflection

What challenges did you encounter while trying to get the photos of your first 4 prompts (Square, Metal, Happy, Bowie)

1. I encountered many problems, in one of my pictures the sun was in the way of the picture and i had to move the camera to an angle where the sun wouldn't be in the way. Also it was hard to find a good picture of happy, i had to settle for an okay picture of a statue smiling.

What technical aspects of photography or the assignment in general (focus, framing, holding the camera, etc.) did you find yourself thinking about the most? Provide a specific example of what you did to do this correctly.

2. While i was taking pictures i was constantly thinking about rule of thirds. in all of my pictures i tried to put the picture in the corner and made sure it wasn't in the middle. When i took a picture for metal i put the metal chain in the bottom corner of the picture.

If you could do the assignment again, what would you do differently now that you know some basic rules of photography?

3. If i could do the assignment differently then i would take a different picture for bowie. The picture i had for bowie was poorly taken and was too bright and didn't follow rule of thirds or any composition rules. The picture i would take instead would be of the bowie sign in front of the school.

What things would you do the same?

4. I would take the same picture for metal and i would also take the same picture for square. My pictures for square and metal were well taken and were good ideas.

Finally - go back and edit your blogs with the 4 photos (square, metal, happy, Bowie), tell me what rules of composition (which you just learned about) did you end up actually achieving? Did you have any?

5. In my picture with the chain on the bench i followed the composition rule, rule of thirds. I also did rule of thirds on my picture of the square, and on my picture of happy. I would say i sort of followed the composition rule for lines, on my metal photo there is a ling leading up to the metal. on my picture for bowie i failed to follow most of the composition rules, although i think i might of included lines into my photo.

Are you interested in shooting those same prompts again, why?

6. I am interested in shooting those same prompts again because i saw a lot of other better pictures i could have taken. There is a lot of photos i could take for bowie and for square. Not many for happy but i could find something for it. And there are plenty of things i could take photos of that would relate to metal.

Student Blog Reflection

I like how the picture for happy is people hanging out having a good time instead of someone smiling. I also think the picture for bowie is very good and shows bowie pride. One thing they could fix is when taking a picture of metal they could get closer up to the metal, because in the picture it is hard to tell what they are taking a photo of.
