Yearbook Spread

Front pages of the world

1.My favorite newspaper front page is Timesdaily because I like the name, and the stories it has look interesting.
2. My favorite headline of that newspaper is "Devil sign saying 'Go to Church' to be posted" because it makes me interested in why that sign was put up.
3. There are 6 stories
4. All the front pages have at least 3 stories and a bunch of headlines and information. They have similar designs but different color.
5. The front pages have different things, color, stories, and some have more stories or more headlines.

Shutterbug Websites

I would say the intention of this website is most likely to persuade people to subscribe to them, but they do also provide some information of different cameras like is Canon is better than the camera brand Nixon. This website writes about facts and opinions about Canon and Nixon, debating which is better for different actions. An average viewer like me can gain a lot from this website. I've learned a lot of facts about Canon and Nixon I didn't know. Like  i learned about a way to not shake much without a tripod, and an easy way to make a photo look much better. I would probably not add this website to my bookmarks because in order to get all the information I have to subscribe. It only provided me with some facts but not that many that are helpful. I do not think that I would recommend this website to anyone, unless they were about to buy a camera, or just now are starting to take pictures. The website does not provide anything useful to me, mostly because I can not buy a camera since I do not have enough money. Although I could recommend it to a friend who has money or an adult who takes photos.  I would rate this website 2 out of 5 because it didn't help me and it was not interesting.

I chose to share what I wrote so that if anyone wants to visit this website from our class when they are about to buy a camera, they could have a good idea of whether to buy Canon or Nixon. But other than that reason I would not of shared this, it is a pretty useless website if you are not in the process of buying a camera or even selling one. I guess it would also be okay to share this people to maybe ask them to subscribe because if you actually do need help with stuff about how to  take photos and advice on how to make your pictures look good. This website would be very helpful for that, but again you have to subscribe so I don't know if it is worth it. I will most likely never visit this website again, but a friend could possibly need to find out some stuff about photos and cameras. Those are the only reason why I would share this.

Self-Portrait vs Selfie

There is a big difference between a self portrait and a selfie. A selfie is a casual photo you would take anywhere, a self portrait can be formal, informal, or environmental. This means that you can't be just anywhere or wearing whatever.
An environmental self portrait is one where you are in an environment that defines you, or describes you. In this case you can't be wearing just anything because it has to be what you would wear if it was the real event or location. A formal portrait is the most different from a selfie, this is where you dress up fancy and have a proper photo, like if it was a family portrait where you are all dressed up. An informal portrait is the closest to a selfie but still different, you still need to use rules of composition. You wouldn't be dressed like a formal portrait or anything fancy, but the photo should be casual and can show the personality of the object.
In conclusion, a selfie is much more casual and not important, where as a self-portrait is a real photo where you try to make it look good. A selfie is just snapshot, while a self-portrait is much more than a quick picture. I like how this article explains well the difference between the two types of pictures. In my opinion, I prefer self portraits because they look better, and have value unlike a selfie.
I couldn't find a selfie and the one I found would only let me save the link

Phobia Project

A. A phobia is an exaggerated and irrational fear of something.
B. Acrophobia: Fear of heights.
    Coulrophobia: Fear of clowns.
    Arachnophobia: Fear of scorpions.
    Arsonphobia: Fear of fire
   Keraunophobia: Fear of lightning
C. The possible ideas for my project could be: Acrophobia, coulrophobia, or maybe arachnophobia.

For acrophobia, I would probably go somewhere with a cliff or a bridge. I would have myself in the picture or my little brother. Another option would be if I go to like a 10ft place but shoot from the ground to make it look higher up. I would want the expression of my brother's face to be super scared or worried.

Arachnophobia would be pretty hard, I would have to find a scorpion or a fake one somewhere. Once I have one I would just try and make the scorpion as scary as possible. To show the phobia, I would also make it a dark photo so you can tell it's fearful.

For coulrophobia I have a clown costume I could put my older brother in, and make him look really scary. I could also be in the picture looking really scared, or one of my friends could be doing it. I would make the photo look dark and scary.

Welcome back to 2018

I chose this photo because i know about the football teams kneeling during the national anthem, and the picture really shows how the players feel. The players are kneeling to protest police brutality, and i think what they're doing is good and is their right. The photo really displays the emotions of the players and how much they actually care about what is happening to people in the U.S. who experience police brutality.

This is a picture of Barack Obama and leaving the stage after giving his farewell speech in Chicago. The whole country was sad this day, because a great president was leaving. i chose this picture because the darkness of it shows that this was a depressing day, and captures how Obama felt.  I chose this picture because it shows how many terrorist attacks have happened this year, just like the car bombing in Iraq, which is what this is a picture of.

Best Movie of 2017

I think the movie "Get Out" was the best film of 2017. I remember watching it with my family at the movies, and it was one of the best movies i had ever seen. It was suspenseful, mysterious, thrilling, and interesting, and the very last scene was my favorite part, it really tied the whole movie together. In my opinion, this was the best film of 2017 by far.

Best Song of 2017

I chose the song Bad ad Boujee because i really liked that song for half of 2017. After about 3 months I was so tired of it, but I listened to it a month later and liked it again. This song is probably still a lot of peoples favorite, but it isn't really my favorite anymore.

Most Important News Story
I think this news story about president trump being elected was the most important. It informed the U.S. that our new president was Donald Trump, which was something every person needed to know. There were other very important stories, but this one was probably the most significant and important.

Most Important Person
I think that Colin Capernick was the most important person of 2017. He was the first football player who kneeled during the national anthem, by him doing this, it influenced other NFL teams to kneel, which started a trend and now almost all of the teams kneel. He first kneeled because he was protesting police brutality that is a huge issue in the U.S. it needs to stop and he found a way to calmly and peacefully protest it.

Biggest Sports Person
I think Cristiano Ronaldo was the biggest sports person of the year. He won his 5th Ballon d'or which made him tie with Lionel Messi. Now no one has a clue of which player is better, Messi had 5 in a row but then Ronaldo won 5 in a row. Ronaldo could now steal another trophy if Messi doesn't start to perform better. Overall, I think Ronaldo winning the Ballon d'or made him the biggest sports person of 2017.

My Holiday

1. The one thing that happened over the break that I will remember is that my little cousin cussed in front of his mom and got in a lot trouble.
2. My resolutions for 2018 are to have really good grades, and be more patient.
3. In 2018 I am looking forward to the bowie soccer season.
