Found Object (flower on a road)

Found Object (sink on the grass)

Sports Portfolios

 First Video-
Alyssa Schukar
Stories
1. The judges thought the pictures were not personal enough
2. Each picture is too similar
3. They said there is not enough strong singles
A good thing they said was the picture of the guy sweeping the road. A second good thing they said was they liked the picture of the girl falling over the hurdles and the picture only showing the legs of the opponent.
I thought this photographer was pretty good, they showed a lot of stories and made her message clear in each picture. I liked how she captured moments where the person's face was perfect.

Second Video-
Travis Houghton
Stories
1. They don't like the picture of the woman holding an abortion sign.
2. They didn't like how much he used little kids in his photos.
3. They didn't like the word she had in some of his photos.
One of the judges liked the weirdness of the cotton candy photo. The judges enjoyed a sports photo of a man jumping for a baseball.
I did not enjoy looking at this photographer's photos, he didn't really ave a message or if he did it was hard to tell what it was supposed to be. What I didn't like, was that he took some photos where I had no idea what I was looking at, or what the min object was.
Third Video-
Nick Adams
Stories
1. They did not like the photos with the kids at all.
2. His pictures were too tight sometimes
3.He cut off too much on a lot of photos
The judges liked his picture of the man jumping under the light, they also enjoyed how he had the picture of the girl and the birds.
I thought this photographer was fairly good, some of the photos had too much cut off, others were too tight. I did like how he always had a message I could read in his photos, I knew what the story was.

Fourth Video-
Sam Adams
Biker Story
1. They didn't like the photo of the duck boat at all
2. They don't like how he cut off someones face in a photo, and he's doing it in more than one photo
3. They wished that in one of his pictures, the subjects were moving or doing something not just standing there
They liked how he got the picture of 3 girls jumping for the same ball, they really enjoyed that photo. A second thing they liked was how he got a photo and showed that it was in someone's backyard, and not an actual big deal.
This was my favorite photographer that I watched, he had good photos that all showed a good story, and he just had a lot of very well timed pictures. I thought that he shouldn't have cut off a couple things but other than that everything was great.

Winning Portfolio
A. The strengths the judges noted that he had good angles on some photos, in a picture they liked how everyone was doing something, they also noted how he was close to the subjects in some photos which was good.
B. The strengths I saw were tat the photographer was very creative and had great ideas for pictures. The only weakness I saw was how he photoshopped a couple pictures too much.
C. When the judges are deciding who to be the winner, they discuss with each other strengths and weaknesses of each portfolio, along with how many god photos versus how many bad photos. They also saw how many sports photos were taken compared to others, was it all sports, or was it half and half , or no sports.

Part 2-
A picture I agree with the judges on is a photo of a man with headgear, who looks muddy and dirty. The picture was put in black and white which makes it look a lot better, I really liked this picture and so did the judges.

A photo I do not agree with the judges on is a picture of  girl in a little pool, a couple of the judges said it was good but I thought it was a bad picture. It had way too much stuff in the background and foreground, it was hard to tell what I was supposed to be looking at.

Final Exam plans

1. I plan to shoot this project either this weekend or next weekend.
2. It will start at my house but then move to the park.
3. I will be documenting both of my dog's time at the park, what they do and where they go.
4. To get this finished I will need a tripod, camera, and that is probably it.
5. My narration will be when I'm throwing a tennis ball with my dogs, talking about their behaviors and how often they go to the park, stuff like that. The still images will be placed in the end of the trip, getting in the car, walking back to the car, taking pictures of their messed up fur and tired faces. The video portion will be the beginning and the middle.

My Opinion Story

Fast Food Restaurants

Have you ever gone to a restaurant and just been in love with the food? Well I sure have. Fast-food restaurants are not good for you, but they provide delicious food that you don’t have to cook, and you get it immediately. Back about 12,000 BC was when we first started growing crops as a main source of food. Imagine that, having to grow something and wait for it to sprout and then harvest it just so you can eat mediocre food. Nowadays you just go drive somewhere close and get really good food that could be good for you, or bad depending on hat you order. But you don’t always have to get fast food, you can also have a nice relaxing time at a sit down restaurant. You can go with family, friends, or on a date. I personally enjoy going out to eat with my family, it’s really fun. Places like McDonald’s, Wendy’s and Chick-fil-A, are some of the most popular fast food places. I love Chick-fil-A, their chicken is the best out of the other fast-food places. Unlike McDonalds, Chick-fil-A sadly only has places in the U.S. they are not worldwide. I’m sure many people would say fast-food restaurants are terrible and just make people fat. And they are not wrong, fast food places have increased the obesity level 33.8 percent since they first were established. Although this is true, everyone has those nights where they are too tired to cook. People in these situations go and get food, but since they might be a healthy person they go to a salad bar, but that is still a fast-food place. Fast-food places are not always greasy burgers, it can also be salad bars, fish places, tacos, and any other restaurant that serves food to you very quickly (you don’t sit down). People do not actually notice how helpful fast food places are, they give you what you want for a very cheap price. You could get a burger for $0.99 at McDonalds dollar menu. That is a big factor when it comes to these places being popular. Not many people have time to cook, or may not know how to cook. So they go and get tacos, a salad, or anything else they feel like eating. This makes a huge impact on how popular these restaurants are. Not to mention road trips, what would people eat if there were no fast food places to stop at, they would have to stop and cook somewhere...? I am very thankful for having fast food restaurants, it gives me the option to eat healthy or not, it is easy, fast, and very convenient.

Personal Essays

1. Talking to a boring person at a party

2. You should remember to be specific

3. Make sure you have more opinions than facts, and make sure your facts are accurate. Use a hook to get the reader's attention. Lastly, avoid philosophical rants.
